Accessibility The Hague beaches

Choose the fastest and smartest way to travel to the Hague coast. By bike, public transport, scooter or shared scooter you will get to the beach the fastest. If you come by car, use Park + Beach or park in a parking garage.

To Scheveningen

 

By bicycle, shared bike, private or shared scooter
You can bike to the beach via the safe and clearly marked bicycle routes. Along the Boulevard you can find a number of free and guarded, as well as unguarded parking spaces for your bicycle or scooter. For shared scooters, there are private parking spaces, found in the providers’ app (felyx, Go Sharing and Check). Among others at the Zwarte Pad, Korte Zeekant and Vissershavenweg. Share bikes can be parked in the free bike racks.

By tram
From The Hague HS station, Scheveningen can be reached by:

  • Tram 1 and 9 direction Scheveningen Noord
  • Tram 11 direction Strandweg
  • Tram 12 direction Markenseplein (Duindorp)

From The Hague CS station and The Hague HS station:

  • Tram 9 direction Scheveningen Noord

By Car
On busy days it is sometimes difficult to find parking close to the beach. If you come by car, use Park + Beach or park in a parking garage. In the residential areas there is paid parking (€6.50 per hour) and you can park for a maximum of 2 hours.

Park + Beach
With Park + Beach you reserve a parking space at 1 of our partners’ garages. The parking garages are CS New Babylon, Malieveld and World Forum and are located just outside Scheveningen. From there you can quickly and easily continue to Scheveningen by public transport or shared transport.

By motorcycle
On Strandweg, from Scheveningse slag between Adriaan Maasplein and Strandweg, 2 free parking lanes are reserved for motorcycles.

Beach accessibility for the disabled

 

The Hague beaches are easily accessible for people with physical disabilities.

Cab and regional taxi
The Hague beaches have a few places where you can be dropped off by (regional) cab. Read more or book AV 070.

Beach wheelchairs
At the bicycle shed on the Strandweg in Scheveningen you can rent (electric) beach wheelchairs for a ride on the beach. Or borrow the ScoutCrawler. In this tracked vehicle you can take your own wheelchair.

Go to the Allianz Sailing World Championships by a special shuttle boat

 

We are offering the unique opportunity to experience the Allianz Sailing World Championships from the water. At The Hague Central Station, you will board the special shuttle boat from Paxhaven. The boat leaves every hour for the Haringkade near Scheveningen. This will get you right into the mood of the event! The boat trip takes 20 minutes and costs 5 euro for adults and 1 euro for children up to 12 years old. For more information or reservations, please email info@willemsvaart.nl

The boat departs every hour from Paxhaven outward and back from Haringkade. From the Haringskade it is a ten minute walk to the Fan Zone. See the schedule below for exact times. Pick-up point is in Princess Park opposite the Royal Academy of Arts.
