Volunteer Safety & Rescue

To ensure the safety of all participants on the water, we are looking for drivers and boarders for the Safety and Rescue team. Thus, there is guidance from Marshalls into and out of the harbour but also each race course has its own Marshall boat to ensure that passers-by do not sail through the courses. In addition, each race course has several safety teams to assist participants where necessary. All this is led by a safety team from the shore, which is in close contact with all race courses.

Driver

What will you do as a driver?

As a driver, you can bring your own boat or you will be assigned a boat from the organisation. As driver, you will get a boarding partner on board and together you will be assigned to one of the race courses. If you already have experience in a specific Olympic or Paralympic class, we would like to hear about it so that we can allocate you specifically.

What should you be able to do?

  • You have sailing licence 2 and a VHF basic certificate.

Boarder (COMPLETE)

When should you be available?
The Safety & Rescue team will be deployed from Monday 7 August to Sunday 20 August. For these positions, it is our strong preference that you are present all days. The minimum availability is 5 days (preferably consecutive).

Do you have any questions? Then please send an e-mail to volunteers@allianzsailingworlds.nl. Are you excited and would you like to apply immediately? Of course you can do so via the button below.
